Black River Festival 2007
I am just now recovering from an epic weekend on the Black River in Watetown, NY. There was a more casual competitive atmosphere than many other festivals, but there was no lack of quality kayaking and good times.
I won the freestyle event in the morning, nearly doubling the 2nd place person’s score during the prelim rides. In the afternoon I paddled the Speeder in the race and completely desimated the rest of the competition. Brian Hartman also had a strong second place showing in the shortboat class.
I was so tired after paddling all day, unfortunately I did not win the party.
This weekend I’ll be racing the Speeder again at the Deerfield Festival and then it’s on to the Northwest
