Continue reading »]]> Just returned from a superb trip out to Italy. The weather was miserable but the water was excellent. The Sesia valley is an absolute must for any keen white water kayaker. You can go as hard as you want and the camp site has a really nice vibe and fantastic food. In the morning stroll into town, drink coffee and eat fresh Brioche for breakfast. Then take in the beautiful buildings and culture before heading out for well…. four rivers in one day was my best but I didn’t try too hard. There are loads of classic runs all so close together.

It was my second trip to the area and I will definitely be back.

Just returned from a kayakers ultimate smash and grab holiday. We unfortunately arrived to late to take part in the Sjoa festival but it looked to be a great success and one to look out for next year. With only 7 days we maximised our water time and with everything high it wasn’t hard to find rivers, just difficult to pick from the number of outstanding sections in the Sjoa area. The weather was typically wet but the Sjoa kayak camp provided excellent shelter. With budget airlines providing cheap flights all over Europe I can see me becoming a fan of smash and grab holidaying.

Continue reading »]]> Just a quick note to tell you all about last weekends big air contest in York. The day saw beautiful hot weather and some of the most entertaining rides I have seen for some time. Myself and fellow Fat Cat Sam Ellis judged the event which hopefully will get bigger every year.

Yesterday evening was spent having an ace time surfing the salt water with the Scotish boys and learning that taking pictures in the sea is very tricky.

 Just got back from an awesome trip to the Swiss / Italian Alps. I spent 10 days ticking some off some of the classic runs with the Fat Cat lads. The weather was great and we got loads of stuff done despite a fairly laid back schedule. We made good time on the rivers making plenty of time to soak up the local culture and for a massive night out in Milano searching for the highest concentration of super models in the world. I would definitely recommend you get yourself out there. Here are a few pictures to give you an idea.

Despite the tragic start to the event I think everyone pulled together and made the best of the time and put on a dam fine show

Continue reading »]]> Just A quick note to say were still waiting for the weather to clear down here in Queenstown, New Zealand. Wet does not do the discription justice. The rivers are  rather high, with the shotover usually rafter at 50 m^3 and it currently on around 500m^3 and summer starting offically tomorrow we will see if the sun starts melting the fresh snow.

Continue reading »]]> After a long hard journey down to New Zealand im lucky enough to be traveling around enjoying seeing the sights and paddling some awsome creeks. The classic heli runs are a little high at the moment leaving plenty of time for other stuff.

     humm guessing me and the Burn wont be getting that train.

Continue reading »]]> Ive just got back from a fantastic trip to British Columbia with the boys from Fat Cats Productions. What a adventure, amazing water, scetchy information, cashed cars and  the odd angry local. Off to help out with the National youth Series here in the UK this weekend as I’m not confident in Jamie’s water. We’ll see.
